Description
Japanese lacquerware is a broad category of objects coated with urushi lacquer such as decorative arts, kitchen utensils, and home furnishings. Lacquer has been an integral part of the Japanese lifestyle since as early as 7,000 BC and technique has been improved and refined ever since.
As the substance of lacquer, "urushi" is poisonous to the touch until it dries, the creation of lacquerware has long been practiced only by skilled dedicated artisans. Mohr & McPherson carries wide array of lacquerware including serving trays, Bento boxes, bowls, plates, and Tansu chests.
